He was predeceased by: his parents, John Herman Rainey and Margaret Helen Bannister Rainey; his wife Virginia Sanders Rainey; his son Richard "Rickey" Rene Rainey; his grandson Matthew J. Wallace; and his brothers, Fleet William "Billy" Rainey and Donald Rainey.
He is survived by: his daughter Sheron Rainey Wallace (Jack); his grandchildren, Christy Rainey, Benjamin Wallace (Julie), Kimberly Wallace, Robert Wallace (Anne-Marie), Melissa Knorr (Dempsey) and Andrew Wallace; his great grandchildren, Dylan Taylor and Matthew G. Wallace; and his great great grandchild Cambreigh Taylor.
