We announce the death of Virginia Hudson (Boone, North Carolina), who passed away on September 21, 2026, at the age of 83. Virginia will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Johnnie Mathers and Alice Mathers; her husband Gary James Hudson; her daughter Brenda Kay Andrews; and her siblings, Brenda Mathers, Alice Jeanette Cowart, Annete Peyton and Johnnie Mathers Jr..

She is survived by: her children, Johnnie Andrews, Lisa Jackson (Thomas Jackson) and Kevin Hudson (Sharon Hudson); her grandchildren, Allison Keller (Nikki), Kerri Crossley, Cindi Gragg, Kristi Gragg, Brandon Hudson and Jacob Gragg; her great grandchildren, Austin Dunn and Hailey Dunn (Lee); and her siblings, Shirley Langford, Evelyn Rutherford, Wayne Mathers (Janet Mathers) and Tommy Mathers (Barbara Mathers).

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Virginia's memory to the American Heart Association.
