He was predeceased by: his parents, James Boyd Wilson and Lexie Lawrence Wilson; his son Billy Wilson; his brother Robert Wilson; and his nephew Will Pierce.

He is survived by: his wife Diane Washburn; his children, Cheryl Townsend (Donnie) and David Wilson (Flora); his stepsons, John Travers, Phil Washburn (Dusty) and Pete Washburn (Jesse); his sisters, Gloria Heimburger and Ann Trivette; and his grandchildren, John Hyde and Kristi Lamontagna. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
