She is survived by: her children, Sylvester Bruce of Winston Salem, Charlie Bruce of Flint, MI, Lewis Bruce (Francine) of Augusta, GA, Trudy Smith of Flint, MI, Essie Mae Revels (Richard) of Boonville and Bessie Mae Oliver of Boonville; her sister Maxine Johnson of Chicago, IL; and her grandchildren, April Peoples (Paul), Sharon Evans (Arlo), Joseph Bruce, Rose Oliver, Christen Bruce, Christopher Bruce, Larry P. Smith Jr. (Stephanie), James Derrick Smith (Juanita), Kai Bruce, Ebony Walker, Catlin Newman (Mark), Trudie Burce and Leah Bruce. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Huff Funeral Home (212 Main St, East Bend, NC 27018). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
