He is survived by: his wife Linda McFarland; his children, Melissa Charles of Hickory and Jason Johnson (Amy) of Mooresville; his grandchildren, Zoe Charles, Max Charles of Hickory and Jackson Johnson of Mooresville; and his niece Sandy Greene of Apex.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home (359 E Church St, Bostic, NC 28018). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Duncan's Creek Church (1658 Duncans Creek Rd, Ellenboro, NC 28040).
