It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Hester Buff Gurley (Bostic, North Carolina), who passed away on June 20, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Buff and Mary Lou Dale Buff. She is survived by: her husband Charles Edward "Ed" Gurley; her children, Ron Gurley (Ann) of Golden Valley, Michelle Ekstrom (Joel) of Golden Valley and Sherri Suttle (Michael) of Golden Valley; her sisters, Dorothy Holland (Charlie) of Morganton and Nancy Costner (Fred) of Morganton; her sisters-in-law, Pauline McCurry and Ruth Gurley; and her grandchildren, Angela, Joey and Gloria Ekstrom. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home (359 E Church St, Bostic, NC 28018). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Fairview Baptist Church.
