He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen Devens and Anna Mae Greene; his daughter Helen Anne Devens; and his stepfather Jim Greene. He is survived by: his wife Alicia Devens; his son James Devens, Jr. (Shandra Holmes) of Bostic; his siblings, Lisa Devens of Pennsylvania, Rhonda Wydra (Martin) of Pennsylvania and Gary Wellborn Mooresboro (Tammie); and his grandchildren, Kason Devens, Helena Devens, Kaleb Smith and Lena Smith.
