She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Daniel Melton and Erma Jones Melton. She is survived by: her husband Robert Joseph "Bob" West; her sons, Jonathan West of Asheville and Nathan West of Asheville; her grandson Elias West; and her siblings, Lloyd Melton (Nancy) of Bostic, Anita Jones of Rutherfordton and Laura Perkins (Joe) of Fort Pierce, FL. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A graveside service was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Lafayette Memorial Park (2301 Ramsey St, Fayetteville, NC 28301).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
