She was predeceased by: her parents, Isaiah Carswell and Callie Mace Carswell; her husband Reverend James Earl Toney; and her siblings, Ruth Wheeler, Ruby Grooms, Vernie Gaddy, Wilson, Conley and Robert Isaiah Carswell.
She is survived by: her children, Connie Toney Fisher (Hugh) of Sunshine, Rita Dianne Toney of Sunshine and James Arnold Toney of Tampa, Florida; her sister Faye McPeters of Morganton; her granddaughters, Emily Fisher Edwards (Nathan) and Anna Fisher Bailey (Ryan); and her great grandchildren, Callie Grace Edwards, Elijah Duncan Edwards and Maggie Lynn Bailey.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Ross Hill Baptist Church (931 Calton Rd, Bostic, NC 28018). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Ross Hill Baptist Church Cemetery (931 Calton Rd, Bostic, NC 28018).
