He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gettys and Shirley Ross Gettys of Bostic. He is survived by: his children, Lauren of Forest City and Shane of Charlotte; his brother Willie (Christy) of Sunshine; his granddaughter Olive; his niece Willa; and his cousin Stevie. He is also survived by other aunts, cousins near and far, and lifelong friends.
A reception will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home (359 E Church St, Bostic, NC 28018).
