With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Taft Washington Laney of Brasstown, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 30, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Taft Washington may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Laney and Gertie Hartness Laney; and his siblings, Jake, Jim, Leon, John, Georgie, Dorothy, Lois and Judy.
He is survived by: his sister Margaret Tweed of Andrews, NC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
