He was predeceased by: his son Curtis Garren; his wife Gerry; his siblings, Clarence, Ed, Harold, Roy and Elizabeth; and his son Gordon Wayne.

He is survived by: his children, Brenda Garren, William Bruce Garren (Amanda), Michelle Garren-Flye and Robert "Bobby" Garren (Mandy); his brother Craig; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Garren, Kimberly Garren, Jon Garren, Tina Garren, Jack Garren, Carl Garren, Nichole Garren, Joshua Flye, Benjamin Flye and Jessica Flye. He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
