He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest John and Ada Emma Gazaway (Castleberry); and his siblings, JC Gazaway, Richard Gazaway, Wesley Gazaway and Ruth Ledford.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lois Gazaway (Long); his children, Teresa Backer (Brent) of Greer, SC, Beth Agan (Mark) of Ramseur, NC and Derek Gazaway (Francesca) of Brevard, NC; and his grandchildren, Tyler Agan, Anthony Agan (April), Jessica Backer, Daniel Backer (Sara), Timothy Backer (Jordan), Heidi Backer, Conner Gazaway, Jacob Gazaway, Micah Gazaway, Alec Gazaway and Logan Gazaway. He is also survived by his 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews.
The family is asking that in lieu of flowers donations be made to his grandson's family for their mission work. All donations should be made out and sent to Progress Baptist Church (1935 N. Rugby Rd, Hendersonville, NC 28791) clearly marked for Anthony & April Agan.
