He is survived by: his wife Juanita J Compton Mathis; his sister Linda Heatherly; his sons, Randy Stacy Mathis (April) and Shannon Dale Mathis (Judilyn); his stepsons, Jackie Earl Compton (Deena) and David Wayne Compton (Stella); his foster children, Romona Reems Newton (Roger) and Ted Alan Reems (Pam); his grandchildren, Avonlea Anne Mathis, Mason Kole Compton and Montana Dawn Compton; and his close friends, Isaac Maynard and Brian Laughter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
