He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Bessie Lehrschall Powell; his brothers, Joe and Terry Powell; his stepdaughter Crissy Wilson Garst; his wife Myra Kay Peterson Powell; his father Brinston Powell of Wilmington, NC; his sisters, Connie Powell Young of Lumberton, NC and Debbie McKee of Leland, NC.; his children, Amber Powell Wilson (Brian) of Rose Hill, NC, Blair Powell Davis (John) of Wallace, NC, Jessica Powell Plummer (Kenny) of Goldsboro, NC and Christopher Wayne Powell of Goldsboro, NC; and his stepchildren, Lee Faircloth (Jennifer) of Riegelwood, NC, Jamie Wilson (Brooke) of Pisgah Forest, NC and Missy Shipman (Luther) of Pisgah Forest, NC.. He was also cherished by 13 grandchildren, 5 great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
