Henry J Coblentz Obituary

Brevard - Henry J. Coblentz, 83, peacefully passed at home with his beloved wife, Ada, and his children by his side. Jesus gently ushered him into heaven without a struggle.

Henry and Ada were married in Hartville, Ohio, on Nov. 3, 1960. During their sixty-three years of marriage, they lived in Ohio, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, and North Carolina.

Henry was best known for his kind heart, witty humor, and his faithful dedication to his Lord. Henry regretted his earlier choices in life before fully surrendering his heart to God. After conversion, he became a humble and godly example to his family. His deeper longing for Jesus in the final months of his life blessed and encouraged everyone he met. Many times we would hear him say, "Oh, Jesus, come quickly.". Although he was bedfast and hardly able to move, Henry still lifted his arm in worship during his final days.

Because of having rheumatic fever as a young child, he was unable to attend school beyond the third grade, but this never prevented him from excelling in many areas of life. For a number of years, Henry worked as a self-employed contractor with his two sons and continued in construction work for as long as he was able.

Over the past ten years, his health began to decline because of diabetes and Parkinson's disease. He was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy several months ago, leading to his death.

Henry was a member of the United Covenant Mennonite Church and greatly appreciated his church family. He was dearly loved by everyone who knew him. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and had several collections which he enjoyed sharing with his children and grandchildren. Henry took a personal interest in each of his loved ones and always made them feel special. Grandpa was a hero to his children and grandchildren. His greatest pleasure was in lifting each of our hearts and bringing smiles to our faces. His humorous personality and keen memory will be missed by all.

Henry was anticipating seeing his family members in heaven and often talked about joining them. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Jonas and Lydia (Miller) Coblentz, a daughter, (Miriam) seven brothers, four sisters and two grandchildren. (Austin- son of Duane & Cindy, & Gloria- Daughter of Ray & Delores).

Henry leaves behind his loving wife, Ada, and their six children. Marilyn (John Hostetler), Loretta (Allen Miller), Marvin (Wanda), Ray (Delores), Cindy (Duane Mullett), Amy (Nevin Miller). Henry & Ada are also blessed with twenty-two grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a brother (Dan), sister (Miriam Miller), a brother-in-law and three sisters-in-law.

Please rejoice with us that our sweet dad, husband and grandpa is forever at home with Jesus.

Funeral services will be held 10am, Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Anchor Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm and 6pm to 8pm, Friday, January 19, 2024 at United Covenant Mennonite Church.

Please send all flowers to the United Covenant Mennonite Church.
