We announce the death of JoAnn Owen Galloway of Brevard, North Carolina, born in Lake Toxaway, North Carolina, who passed away on June 2, 2026, at the age of 89. She was predeceased by: her parents, Vincent Corbin Owen and Elizabeth Lee Owen; her husband Jesse Fred Galloway; and her siblings, Jack Corbin Owen, Jerry Richard Owen, James Edward Owen, Jean Owen Crotts and Johnnie Owen Fordyce.
She is survived by: her children, Karen Hughes (Larry), Susie Moody (Carlton) and Dean Galloway (Karen); her grandchildren, Scott Waldrop, Misty Sheppard (Robert), Holly Hughey (Jonathan) and Kaeden Galloway; her great grandchildren, Asa Sheppard, Finley Hughey and Weston Hughey; her siblings, Robert Joseph Owen (Gaye) and Carol Jeanette Owen; and her sister-in-law Brenda Wise Owen. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
