He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Stokes McCoy of Brevard; his daughters, Mandy McCoy Phillips (Jeff) of Santa Barbara, CA and Selena McCoy Carpenter (Rand) of Nashville, TN; and his grandchildren, Reid Carpenter of Johnson City, TN, Sam Carpenter of Nashville, TN and Pierce Phillips of Santa Barbara, CA.. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Bethany Baptist Church (135 Bert Lane Rd, Brevard, NC 28712).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Bethany Baptist Church, Sharing House, or Friends of DuPont Forest.
