It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roland Blanton (Brevard, North Carolina), born in Sylva, North Carolina, who passed away on October 23, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Posey and Julia Cope Blanton; and his siblings, Robert, Ransom, Emma Lou and Marion.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Holden Blanton of Cullowhee; his sons, Kenneth Blanton (Elaine) of Asheville and Joel Blanton (Sherry) of Sylva; his grandson Ben Blanton of Franklin; his great grandchild Silas Blanton; his stepgrandson Clay Boyer (Amber); and his great grandchildren, Jacob, Nora Boyer of Pittsboro, NC, Ted Boyer (Amy), Westley and Daniel Boyer of Asheville, NC..
A burial was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Blue Ridge Gardens (994 Hendersonville Hwy, Pisgah Forest, NC 28768). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Pisgah Forest Baptist Church (494 Hendersonville Hwy, Pisgah Forest, NC 28768).
