He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Horace Patterson and Beulah Mae Christian Patterson; and his siblings, Frances Douglas, Mitchell Patterson and Edison Patterson.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Godfrey Patterson; his children, Rhonda Patterson Wilson of Sanford, NC, Halford Tex Patterson of Wilmington, NC and William Troy Patterson of South Carolina; his sister Gerline Cagle of Broadway; and his grandchildren, Jesse Wilson, Jeremy Wilson, Ashley Bryant, Jamie Patterson and Justin Patterson. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
