He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Carson Moore and Beulah Ryals Moore; his wife Joan Vaughan Moore; his siblings, Gilbert Moore, Katherine Faircloth and Lillian Reeves; and his stepfather C. B. "Make" Knight.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Godwin (Buddy), Karen Marosites (Bret), Jimmy Moore and Timmy Moore (Sheila Patterson); his sisters, Eunice Woodard and Doris Kelly (Billy); his grandchildren, Holly Marosites (Jeremy Thomas), Brittany Godwin, Bradley Godwin (Shannon Blair), Benjamin Marosites (Shiloh Burgreen), Olivia Strickland (Skyler) and Carson Moore (Makenzie); his great grandchildren, Hayden Strickland, Miles Moore and Fletcher Strickland; and his pet Birdie.
