Shirley Ann Smith Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Ann Smith of Broadway, North Carolina, born in Sanford, North Carolina, who passed away on April 29, 2023, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Trusell and Minnie Lee Smith; her husband Charles Lester Smith; her daughter Linda Carol Smith; her stepdaughters, Carolyn McCutchen and Lisa Quick; and her siblings, Linda Fay Martin, Devolar McLean, Ernest McLean, William Smith, Jimmy Smith and Henry Jay McLean.

She is survived by: her children, Clarence Russell Smith (Diane) of Sanford, Lester Junior Smith of Sanford, Cynthia Bishop (Arthur) of Hephzibah, Georgia, Sherry Clinton (Keith) of Jessup and Charles Harold Smith of Broadway; her brothers, James McLean of Sanford and Percy McLean (Stella) of Broadway; and her sisters-in-law, Treva McLean (late Ernest) of Sanford and JoAnn McCormick of Olivia. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
