She was predeceased by: her parents, Rocky and Mildred Crouch Lucas; her children, Jimmy Benfield, Jr. and Catherine Nadine Benfield; her siblings, Michael Lucas, Connie Harris and Shirley Flowers; her nephew Darin Boatright; her children-in-law, Bobby Wells and Heather Benfield; her grandson-in-law Howard Richardson Jr.; and her stepgranddaughter Kandice Shivers.
She is survived by: her husband Jimmy Benfield; her children, Wendy Wells and Richard Benfield; her sister-in-law Ruth Lucas; her brother Richard Lucas (Susie); her stepchildren, Darlene Benfield and Daryl Benfield; and her nephew David Boatright. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Fairgrove United Methodist Church Cemetery (1735 Cunningham Mill Rd, Reidsville, NC 27320).
Memorials may be made to Citty Funeral Home to assist with her final expenses.
