He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin T. Gibson and Sarrah Holden Gibson; and his great grandchildren, Stetson and Gabriel. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Waldroup Gibson; and his children, David Gibson (Sundi) of Almond, NC, Danny Gibson, Mark Gibson of Palm Springs, CA, Darren Gibson (Mellie) of Bryson City, NC and Kim Gibson (Buff) of Cherokee, NC.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Crisp Funeral Home (669 US-19, Bryson City, NC 28713). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
