He was predeceased by: his parents, Felix Hyatt and Inez Hyatt; and his brother Lavon Hyatt. He is survived by: his wife Palestine Hyatt (Tiny); his sons, Hershel Hyatt Jr. (Melanie) and Alex Hyatt (Tina); his grandchildren, Sarah Hopkins (Wyatt), AJ Hyatt (Makayla), Harlie Hyatt and George Hyatt (Sadie); and his siblings, Lillian Hyatt of Bryson City, Dean Hyatt of Bryson City, Michael Harlan and William Hyatt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
