He is survived by: his wife Reba Burns; his children, Deborah Lynn Burns (Kevin), Sheila Burns Cole (TJ), James Barneycastle (Maryanne) and Joseph Barneycastle; his sister Willa Belle Hubbard; his grandchildren, Rae Lynn Atwood Moeller (Luke), Toni Lane, Meagan Barneycastle, Sebastian Barneycastle and Wyatt Cole; his great grandchildren, Logan, Rae Moeller and Reed Haas; and the mother of his children Julia Lennita Biggs Graves. He is also survived by nieces, nephews extended family.
The family requests houseplants and memorial contributions be made to PAWS in Bryson City in his memory.
