We are sad to announce that on September 8, 2025, at the age of 97, Stephen Morrison Findlay (Bryson City, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Stephen leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Stephen Findlay and Mary McQueen Morrison. He is survived by: his wife Gail Oxendine Findlay; and his sons, Michael Morrison Findlay (Jerri) of Crossville and John Wesley Findlay of Bryson City.
He was active in the Swain County community, coaching youth soccer, serving as a Big Brother in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, and participating in the Swain County Community Foundation's fundraising plays.
