He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Staton Whitehurst and Etta Faye Whitehurst; and his sisters, Barbara Ewart, Patricia Whitehurst and Beth Anderson.
He is survived by : his wife Linda Wright Whitehurst; his daughters, Laurie Slezak (John) and Cristy Kessler (Charlie); his grandchildren, Kyle Slezak, Jacob Slezak, Ryan Slezak, Samantha Slezak, Tyler Kessler, Jay Kessler and David Kessler; his great grandchild Jaxson Slezak; his nephew Gregory Ewart; and his great-nieces, Sharon Whitehurst, Amy Forbes, Kimberley Warrick and Holly Austin.
