With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Deane Edgar Pigford of Burgaw, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 24, 2025 at the age of 78. He was predeceased by: his parent Deane; his son Roy Ritterbusch, Jr.; his grandson Brent Ritterbusch; and his brother Gene Pigford. He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Pigford; his children, Amy Blackstock (Jon), Eddie Deane Lanier (Michelle) and William Carter (Mandy); his grandchildren, Walter Pigford, Parker Lanier, London Lanier, Christian Ritterbusch, Trey Ritterbusch (Haelei), Lauren Ritterbusch (Mylez), Kristyn Padgett (Weston), Mitchell Carter, Jack Blackstock, Paul Blackstock, Marrissa Watts (Steven), Raven Flowers, Hunter Moss, John Silk and Joey Howe; and his sister-in-law Donna Pigford. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Willard Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at the Riverview Memorial Park (9332 US-117, Willard, NC 28478).
