He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Gordon Blake, Jr. and Clara Vann Freeman Blake; his stepson Frederick Dean Taylor, Jr.; his wife Pamela "Pam" Burgess Blake; his children, Harold "Hal" Vann Blake, Jr. (Ginger) and Andrea Blake; his granddaughter Harper Vann Blake; and his brothers, James "Jim" Gordon Blake III and Neil Freeman Blake (Mary). He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
