With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Illinois Populus of Burgaw, North Carolina, who passed away on May 26, 2022 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Walter Carr and Weo Mae DeVane Carr; her husband David L. Populus, Sr.; her children, David Populus, Jr. (Michele), Antoinette Weathers (David) and Salina Populus; her sister Alice Hayes; and her nephews, Edward Gillim (LaTonya) and Walter Gillim. She was also cherished by six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
