It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jimmy Blackburn of Burgaw, North Carolina, who passed away on April 12, 2024, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jimmy Blackburn to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Ivey Blackburn and Shirley Lanier Blackburn; his wife Nancy Blackburn; and his sister Shelia Cowan. He is survived by : his daughters, Megan Hanson (Bobby), Lisa Burget (Cody) and Kimberly Fisher; his grandchildren, Lauren Ann, Dustin, Iris, Ares, Mavis and Jami; and his siblings, Dean Blackburn (Patience) and Brenda Wurtz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Harrell's Funeral Home (212 S Dickerson St, Burgaw, NC 28425). A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Harrell's Funeral Home Chapel (212 S Dickerson St, Burgaw, NC 28425).

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to NC Wildlife Resources Commission John E. Pechmann fishing education center in his name.
