He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Hesse and Louise Hesse; his wife Agnes Marie Droste Hesse; his sisters, Lorraine and Louise; and his great grandchild Joseph Morgan Hesse.
He is survived by: his children, Jean Corbett (Jeff), Louis Hesse (Robin), Diane Hesse, Lisa Mantooth (Richard), Steven Hesse, Bill Hesse (Angie), Don Hesse and Larry Hesse (Gina); his grandchildren, Brandon, Jonathan (Jessie), Chris (Taylor), Travis (Jessica), KerrieAnn, Leigh, Deanna (Miranda), Hilary (Dustin), Addison, Thomas, Emily, Taylor, Gracie, Nick, Lauren and Christian; and his great grandchildren, Luke, Allen, Henry, Lila, Sawyer, Hudson, Easton, Memphis, Ayden, Colton, Jada, Kinzley, Walker, Asher and Chase.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Harrell's Funeral Home (212 S Dickerson St, Burgaw, NC 28425). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, May 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Josephs Catholic Church (1303 US Hwy 117 Byp S, Burgaw, NC 28425).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Josephs Catholic Church.
