He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Virgil Newkirk, Sr. and Beatrice Powers Newkirk; his wife Shirley Newkirk; his children, LaLisa Ann Newkirk of Philadelphia and Tajuana Pitt (Aaron) of Philadelphia, Four; and his stepchildren, Jim Henry Bridges III (Gabbie) of Mission, Dernardo J. Bridges (Torria) of Winston Salem, Regina Huffin of Wallace and Freddie Huffin of Wallace. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
