He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Cox and Annie Mae Lowe Cox; and his sons, William Alan Cox and Patrick Leland Cox. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ferrell Cox; his daughter Robyn Cox; his grandchildren, Trenton Shields and Autumn Shields; his great grandchild Raelynn Shields; and his sister Betty Cox Franklin of Burlington.
