It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Amos Leroy Fisher (Burlington, North Carolina), born in Franklin, Virginia, who passed away on April 6, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Sallie Fisher and Arthur Fisher; his former life partner Alison Stuart Fisher; his spouse Sheriff Richard L. Frye; and his sister Helen Bratton.

He is survived by : his wife Vicky Frye; his stepchildren, Margie Frye, Steve Schier, Martha, Ron Calhoun, Danny, Susan Frye, Ashley, Josh Coe, Lennon, Brandon, Laura Creech, Nathan, Amanda Schier, Jacob, Elizabeth Schier, Emerson, Raina Strickland, Jackson Calhoun, Sebastian, Hattie and Gigi Frye; and his friend Marcelino Ponce. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Following complications from COVID-19 and diabetes, Amos was not one to complain.

Amos's wish was that any gifts in his memory be made to the Duke Cancer Institute or the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation.
