He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Art Shipley, Joy and Aladar Brokes. He is survived by: his parents, Samantha Brokes and Christopher Brokes; his brother Alex; his grandmother Suzanne Shipley of Burlington; and his uncles, Michael Brokes (Connie Delio), Kevin, Tracy Brokes (Susan) of Mount Pleasant and John Kelly of Stanhope. He is also survived by many loving extended family members and countless friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lamb's Chapel - Airport Campus (3539 Alamance Rd, Burlington, NC 27215). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Lamb's Chapel - Airport (3539 Alamance Rd, Burlington, NC 27215).
The family "strongly" requests in lieu of sending flowers, that memorial donations be made to the North Carolina Fallen Firefighters Foundation or to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation in honor of Andrew's life, service, and ultimate sacrifice.
