She was predeceased by: her parents, William Thomas Hinshaw and Texie Lail Hinshaw; her husband Walter E. Bivens (Dink); and her siblings, Tressie Massey, Frank Hinshaw, Ruby Carden, Dub Hinshaw, James Hinshaw and Broadie Hinshaw.
She is survived by: her daughter Susan Thomas; her son-in-law Ron (Ellen Bivens Dodson) of Gibsonville; her grandchildren, Johnny "JD" Dodson (Denise) of Burlington, Stephanie Dodson Flowe (Jay) of Raleigh, Carrie Thomas of Raleigh and Walter Lockamy (Jacqueline) of Highpoint; and her great grandchildren, Spencer Dodson, Sydney Dodson, Josh Mullen, Katherine Lockamy, Isabella Lockamy and Victoria Lockamy.
Memorials may be given in her name to her church, Emmanuel United Methodist.
