She was predeceased by: her parents, Magadie Thaxton Thompson Garland and John Walter Thompson; her stepfather Samuel Garland; her sisters, Grace Ulene Thompson Graves (Huston), Shirley Dean Thompson Cobb (Fem) and Emma Jean Thompson Garland (June); her former husband Ronald Lee Reid; and her son Ronald Lee Reid, Jr. (Audrey).
She is survived by: her husband Timothy Gant of Burlington, NC; her children, Karen A. Reid of Greensboro, NC, Sharon A. Reid of Burlington, NC, Karisa D. Reid of Columbus, OH, Tabatha S. Campbell (Frankie) of Burlington, NC and Kenneth Reid of Los Angeles, CA; her grandchildren, Latoya S. Poole, Latasha R. Reid, Deion Corbett, Mya Corbett, Dinasti Brown, Keytana Reid, Raquel Reid, Jadiamond Bradsher, Briana Reid, Omar McCoffin, Lamar McCoffin, Karon Reid, Kamoree Reid, Mekhi Cotton, Kamiya Cotton, Kimora Summers, Ty'Quell Campbell, Mekhel Campbell and Nevaeh Campbell; her great grandchild Mekiah; her cousins, Samire, Ashton Harris, Parker Harris, Kaleigh Reid, Kadyn Reid, Masyn Reid and Christine Wright (Sis); and her close friend Harry Lea Jr.. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and many other cousins and friends.
