With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Barbara Burkett Askew of Burlington, North Carolina, who passed away on July 18, 2023 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Thomas Burkett and Jonnie Wadsworth Burkett; and her siblings, Carrol Minton and Thomas Burkett. She is survived by: her spouse Atwood Askew; her children, Atwood Askew, Jr. (Pat) of Burlington and Robin Askew McConnell (Rob) of Gibsonville; her grandchildren, Kelly Askew, Ben Askew (Anna) and Katie Britton (Jordan); her great grandchildren, Helen and Oliver Britton; and her sister-in-law Peggy Futrell.
