We are sad to announce that, on January 15, 2026, at the age of 96, Betty Powell Smith in Burlington, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Locket Powell and Mable Clayton Powell; her husbands, Julian Harrelson (Jule) and Garland Smith; and her daughter Bonnie Brandon.
She is survived by: her daughter Julia Rierson (Rollin); her stepdaughter Nancy Fennell; her grandchildren, Julian Rierson (Suzy) and Kara Smith (Jordan); and her stepgrandchildren, Jeff Jobe and Tracy Alcorn (Ron). She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren and one step great grandchild.
