She was predeceased by: her parents, Julius Hooper Johnson and Marguerite Evangeline Bryant; her spouse Whalen Whitman Hayes, Jr.; and her brothers, Julius H. Johnson, Jr. (late JoAnn) and Morris L. Brown (late Jane).
She is survived by: her children, Dawn Marjorie Goodloe (John) of Washington, DC and Whalen Whitman Hayes, III (Angelic) of Burlington, NC.; her grandchildren, Mattison L. Goodloe, Danielle C. Hayes, Sydni E. Hayes, Whalen W. Hayes, IV, Anthony Phusa (Tiffany) and Thaian Phusa (Brian); and her brother Joseph F. Johnson (Rowena) of Fayetteville, NC. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
