He was predeceased by: his parents, C. E. Patterson and Mary Fitch Patterson; his siblings, Sallie Belle Patterson, Audrey Summerell, Rachel Lankford, Mary Catherine, Vance, Tyson and Tom Patterson; Rebecca "Becky" Parrish.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his daughters, Leigh Ann Pennington (Darryl), Julie Sharpe and Amy Baker (Todd); his grandchildren, Danielle Sharpe, Catherine Thompson (Seth), Rachel Whitney (Zach), Caroline Baker, Ryan Pennington (Rebekah), Caleb Baker and Caden Baker; his great grandchildren, Nora and Tate Thompson; and his brother Milton Patterson (Judy).
