He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Harmon Gerringer and Gloria Swanson Garner Gerringer; and his siblings, Helen Gerringer and Carson Gerringer. He is survived by: his wife Edna Fay Perry; his children, Brenda Marie Soots (Howard), Gloria Darlene Gerringer and David Eugene Gerringer (Lisa); his grandchildren, Dewey Lee Cheek, Amanda Fay Cheek (Justin) and Timothy Howard Soots; his great grandchildren, Hunter Lee Cheek, Hailey Anne Cheek, Haven Gray Cheek, Aria Faye Merchant and Justice Truth Merchant; and his siblings, Steve Gerringer, Teresa Smithey and Thelma Helbert. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM at the Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory (2205 S Church St, Burlington, NC 27215). A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Alamance Memorial Park (4039 S Church St, Burlington, NC 27215).
