She was predeceased by: her husband Clyde Maxwell "Max" Ward (Max); her father George Joseph Fertig; and her sons, George Maxwell "Mike" Ward and Donald DeCoursey Ward. She is survived by: her sons, Clyde Patrick "Pat" Ward (Margaret) of Roanoke Rapids, NC and William Hunt Ward (Julia) of Burlington, NC; her grandchildren, Rachel W. Bailey (Sam) of Bay Minette, AL, Bethany W. Ford (Matt) of Daphne, AL, Sean Patrick Ward (Rosin) of Mebane, NC, Cynthia Nicole Ward of New York City, NY and William Hunt Ward, Jr. of Durham, NC; her great grandchildren, Samantha Rayborn, Connor, Devyn Bailey, Max, Ellye Ford, Greyson, Patrick Ward, Jamie Letson and Nadia Everly Ward; her great great grandchild Karsyn Claire Rayborn; her nephews, Steve "Moose" Smith and Scott Ward Smith (Darlene); and her daughter-in-law Jane Yancey.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rich & Thompson Funeral & Cremation Service (306 Glenwood Ave, Burlington, NC 27215). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Rich & Thompson Chapel (306 Glenwood Ave, Burlington, NC 27215).
