It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Clay Fortner of Burlington, North Carolina, born in Pulaski, Virginia, who passed away on December 16, 2023, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Fortner and Frances Gallimore Fortner; his granddaughter Megan Fortner; and his siblings, Patricia Murray, Brenda Cates and Roger Fortner.
He is survived by: his fiancée Penny Pruitt; his children, David Fortner (Samantha) and Nancy Jones (Amber); and his siblings, Jerry Fortner, Norman "Gene" Fortner, Thomas "Junior" Fortner, Judy Mansfield and Barbara Helton. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.
