He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Vestal Moon and Mildred Jordan Moon; his grandson Brandon Roberts Cassidy; his daughter-in-law Heather Moon; his siblings, Roger "Rocky" Dellinger and Sandra Duckworth; his nephew J. R. Duckworth; and his great grandchild Elijah Garrison.
He is survived by: his children, Shelby Moon, David Moon, Jr. (Shoshannah) and Tracy Moon (Shane Mize); and his siblings, Allen Moon, Melvin Dellinger (Cheryl) and Linda Jean Ezzell. He is also survived by numerous other family members and great friends.
