He is survived by: his wife Gladys Bradsher Garner; his children, Chad Garner of Graham, LaTosha Malloy (William) of Winston Salem and Brandi Vereen (Tony) of Oklahoma; his brother Reverend Harold Garner (Jessie) of Snow Camp; Sharon Terrell of Burlington. He is also survived by six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
