It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Doris Mae Ross of Burlington, North Carolina, born in Alamance, North Carolina, who passed away on December 5, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Van H. Watkins and Mary Elizabeth Daye; and her siblings, Vance Watkins Sr. and Sallie J. Graves. She is survived by: her children, Vernell Watkins of Green Level, Lacy D. Ross (Annette) of Mebane, NC, Deborah Patterson of Burlington and Jackie Ross; her sister Zelma Alston of Mebane; and her sister-in-law Shirley Watkins. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild.
