He is survived by: his wife Ramona Richmond Mitchell; his children, Terrence Mitchell (Shana) of Cincinnati, Sheron Jones-Coleman (Lorenzo) of Richmond, VA and Shayla Mitchell-Bigelow of Burlington; and his sisters, Delois Ann (Earl) of Gibsonville and Karen Mitchell-Samuel of Burlington. He is also survived by relatives, family friends.

“To Ann, Karen and the children of my dear cousin Doug who was like a brother to me. We grew up together as children in NC and as we reached school age, I always felt a sense of comfort as I knew that Doug was always close when I needed him. As we became adults, I looked forward to visiting with him on my return trips to NC. We so enjoyed each others company during family reunions as we reminisced. My heart aches for our family. I grateful for the memories and knowing he is at peace.”
